Emily is extremely proud of her alma mater, MRU. She has an incredible amount of support and the entrepreneurship program continues to grow and turn out some incredible Calgary startups. And the people at MRU took notice - they recently interviewed Emily about Vigo and the major influencers at the institute.
Our partners have a lot in store for you. It’s only the first month of the Summer 2018 Vigo Card and our partners already have a jam-packed May for Vigo Members! Get out there and prove that you are artsier, more cultured, more of a foodie, and more adventurous than you think you are.
Instead of hitting up the same cookie-cutter restaurants and coffee shops, let me paint you a word picture of what your summer could look like.
The Summer Vigo Card is now for sale online for Calgarians looking to find unique experiences without breaking the bank and while keeping their money in the local economy. Vigo is partnered with a diverse set of 14 locally owned businesses, the hidden gems of Calgary, all of whom are offering Vigo cardholders exclusive perks.
Presented by co-founder Emily Knight, Vigo’s mission is to connect people to the local businesses, art, culture, and experiences that make up the vibrancy of their city. Three annual Vigo Cards, each valid for a four month season, provide members with exclusive perks and access to a highly curated set of these local experiences.
We are Vigo and we are so happy to meet you! We can not wait to unveil the Summer 2018 Calgary Adventure Card. Let’s start this journey of discovering Calgary, together.
Our Vigo Pilot card is two weeks under way and we are so excited to officially introduce all 11 incredible locally owned and operated Calgary Businesses. We’ve got everything from brewery to bakery, from consignment to coffee. Read through these short bios to learn their stories.
After attending our first underground documentary film festival, Emily and I saw an opportunity to connect people like us; Calgarians looking for new experiences in their city, to local businesses and organizations looking to draw in a larger crowd.
Such was born the merge of the discovery of our city, Calgary, with the discovery of ourselves. We would always be missing something, but we wanted to know we were choosing the best experiences, restaurants and cafes to invest our time and money.
